  • 1000 milliliters water
  • 100 grams palm sugar (or brown sugar)
  • 2 leaves pandan leaves
  • 200 milliliters coconut milk
  • 1 teaspoon salt

Directions

Step 1

Rinse the black glutinous rice under cold running water until the water runs clear. Soak the rice in clean water for at least 4 hours, or overnight if possible. This helps reduce the cooking time.

Step 2

Drain the soaked rice and transfer it to a medium-sized pot. Add 1000 milliliters of water and bring it to a boil over medium-high heat.
