Ingredients

  • 1 lb ham steak
  • 2 tbsp Dijon mustard
  • 2 tbsp honey
  • 1 tbsp brown sugar
  • 1 tsp apple cider vinegar
  • 0.5 tsp garlic powder
  • 0.25 tsp black pepper
  • 1 tbsp parsley (optional, for garnish)

Directions

Step 1

Preheat your oven's broiler to high and position the oven rack about 6 inches from the heat source. Line a baking sheet with aluminum foil for easy cleanup.

Step 2

Place the ham steak on the prepared baking sheet. Pat it dry with a paper towel to ensure the glaze adheres properly.

Step 3

In a small mixing bowl, combine the Dijon mustard, honey, brown sugar, apple cider vinegar, garlic powder, and black pepper. Whisk until the mixture is smooth and well combined.

Step 4

Brush half of the mustard glaze generously onto one side of the ham steak.

Step 5

Place the baking sheet under the broiler and cook the ham steak for 4–5 minutes, or until it begins to brown slightly on the edges.

Step 6

Remove the baking sheet from the oven and carefully flip the ham steak using tongs. Brush the remaining mustard glaze onto the other side of the steak.

Step 7

Return the baking sheet to the broiler and cook for another 4–5 minutes, or until the glaze is caramelized and the edges of the ham steak are lightly crisped.

Step 8

Remove the ham steak from the oven and let it rest for 2–3 minutes before slicing.

Step 9

Garnish with freshly chopped parsley, if desired, and serve immediately. Enjoy your Broiled Ham Steak with Mustard Glaze with mashed potatoes, steamed vegetables, or a side dish of your choice!
