Ingredients

  • 450 grams Broccolini
  • 2 tablespoons Extra-virgin olive oil
  • 1 teaspoon Freshly ground black pepper
  • 1 tablespoon Lemon juice
  • 2 cloves Garlic, minced
  • 0.5 teaspoon Salt
  • 0.25 cup Water
  • 0.25 teaspoon Red pepper flakes (optional)

Directions

Step 1

Rinse the broccolini under cold water and trim the ends. If any stems are particularly thick, slice them in half lengthwise for even cooking.

Step 2

In a large skillet, heat 1 tablespoon of olive oil over medium heat. Add the minced garlic and sauté for 30 seconds until fragrant, being careful not to let it burn.

Step 3

Add the broccolini to the skillet along with 1/4 cup of water. Cover and cook for 5-7 minutes, or until the broccolini is bright green and tender-crisp.

Step 4

While the broccolini is cooking, prepare the pepper dressing. In a small bowl, whisk together the remaining 1 tablespoon of olive oil, freshly ground black pepper, lemon juice, and salt. If desired, add red pepper flakes for a hint of spice.

Step 5

Once the broccolini is cooked, uncover the skillet and let any remaining water evaporate. Transfer the broccolini to a serving plate.

Step 6

Drizzle the prepared pepper dressing over the broccolini and toss gently to coat.

Step 7

Serve immediately as a side dish or garnish with extra black pepper and a lemon wedge, if desired.
