Ingredients

  • 4 cups Broccoli florets
  • 2 cups Cooked turkey (shredded or cubed)
  • 2 tablespoons Butter
  • 2 tablespoons All-purpose flour
  • 2 cups Milk
  • 0.5 cups Chicken broth
  • 1.5 cups Cheddar cheese (shredded)
  • 1 teaspoon Salt
  • 0.5 teaspoon Black pepper
  • 0.5 teaspoon Garlic powder
  • 0.5 cups Parmesan cheese (grated)
  • 0.5 cups Panko breadcrumbs
  • 1 tablespoon Olive oil

Directions

Step 1

Preheat your oven to 375°F (190°C). Grease a 9x13-inch baking dish and set aside.

Step 2

Bring a large pot of water to a boil. Add the broccoli florets and blanch them for 2-3 minutes, until tender but still crisp. Drain and set aside.

Step 3

In a medium saucepan over medium heat, melt the butter. Once melted, whisk in the flour and cook for 1-2 minutes, stirring constantly, to make a roux.

Step 4

Gradually whisk in the milk and chicken broth, continuing to stir until the mixture thickens, about 3-4 minutes.

Step 5

Remove the saucepan from heat and stir in the cheddar cheese, salt, black pepper, and garlic powder until the cheese melts and the sauce is smooth.

Step 6

In the prepared baking dish, layer the blanched broccoli and cooked turkey evenly.

Step 7

Pour the cheese sauce over the broccoli and turkey, spreading it evenly with a spatula.

Step 8

In a small bowl, combine the Parmesan cheese, panko breadcrumbs, and olive oil. Sprinkle the mixture evenly over the top of the casserole.

Step 9

Bake in the preheated oven for 20-25 minutes, until the topping is golden brown and the filling is bubbling.

Step 10

Remove the casserole from the oven and let it rest for 5 minutes before serving.
