Ingredients

  • 12 ounces Pasta (penne, fusilli, or any short pasta)
  • 4 cups Broccoli florets

  • 1 cup Parmesan cheese, grated
  • 1 tablespoon Lemon juice
  • 1 teaspoon Salt
  • 0.5 teaspoon Black pepper
  • 0.25 teaspoon Red pepper flakes (optional)
  • 2 tablespoons Fresh parsley, chopped (for garnish)

Directions

Step 1

Fill a large pot with water and bring it to a boil. Add a pinch of salt.

Cook the pasta according to package instructions until al dente. Reserve 1 cup of pasta water and then drain the pasta.

While the pasta is cooking, steam the broccoli florets for 4-5 minutes, until tender but still bright green. Set aside.
