Ingredients

  • 1 cup (finely chopped) Broccoli
  • 1 small (finely chopped) Onion
  • 2 cloves (minced) Garlic
  • 0.5 teaspoon Red chili flakes
  • 0.5 teaspoon Cumin seeds
  • 0.5 teaspoon (adjust to taste) Salt
  • 0.25 teaspoon Black pepper
  • 1 tablespoon Oil
  • 4 pieces Chapati (Indian flatbread)
  • 0.5 cup (shredded) Cheddar cheese (or any melting cheese)
  • 2 tablespoons (for cooking) Butter

Directions

Step 1

Heat a skillet over medium heat and add the oil.

Step 2

Once the oil is hot, add cumin seeds and let them splutter for a few seconds.

Step 3

Add the minced garlic and sauté for 30 seconds until fragrant.

Step 4

Add the finely chopped onion and cook until translucent, about 2 minutes.

Step 5

Add the chopped broccoli to the skillet, season with salt, black pepper, and red chili flakes, and stir well.

Step 6

Cook the broccoli mixture for 5-6 minutes, stirring occasionally, until it becomes tender. Remove the filling from the pan and let it cool slightly.

Step 7

Take one chapati and spread a portion of the broccoli filling evenly over half of it. Sprinkle some shredded cheese on top of the filling.

Step 8

Fold the chapati in half to create a semi-circle, pressing lightly to set the filling.

Step 9

Heat a non-stick pan or skillet over medium heat and add a small amount of butter.

Step 10

Place the folded chapati sandwich on the pan and cook for 2-3 minutes on each side until golden brown and crispy, and the cheese has melted.

Step 11

Repeat with the remaining chapatis, filling, and cheese.

Step 12

Slice each chapati sandwich in half and serve warm with your favorite chutney or dipping sauce.
