Ingredients

  • 12 oz spaghetti
  • 2 cups broccoli
  • 3 tbsp olive oil
  • 1 cup breadcrumbs
  • 4 cloves garlic cloves
  • 0.5 tsp red pepper flakes
  • 0.5 cup grated Parmesan cheese
  • 1 tsp lemon zest
  • 1 tsp salt
  • 0.5 tsp black pepper
  • 8 cups water

Directions

Step 1

Fill a large pot with 8 cups of water and bring to a boil. Add 1 teaspoon of salt.

Step 2

While the water is heating, chop the broccoli into small florets and thinly slice the garlic cloves.

Step 3

Once the water is boiling, add the spaghetti and cook according to package instructions until al dente. Reserve 1 cup of pasta cooking water before draining.

In a large skillet, heat 2 tablespoons of olive oil over medium heat.

Add the breadcrumbs to the skillet and toast for 3-4 minutes, stirring frequently, until golden brown. Transfer the breadcrumbs to a bowl and set aside.
