Ingredients

  • 12 oz Bow tie pasta (farfalle)
  • 2 tbsp Unsalted butter
  • 2 cloves Garlic, minced
  • 1 cup Heavy cream
  • 0.5 cup Fresh basil leaves, chopped
  • 0.5 cup Parmesan cheese, grated
  • 1 cup Frozen peas, thawed
  • 4 oz Prosciutto, thinly sliced and cut into strips
  • 0.5 tsp Salt
  • 0.25 tsp Black pepper, freshly ground
  • 1 tbsp Olive oil (optional for garnish)
  • 0.25 cup Additional Parmesan cheese for garnish

Directions

Step 1

Bring a large pot of salted water to a boil. Cook the bow tie pasta according to package instructions until al dente. Reserve 1/2 cup of pasta water, then drain and set the pasta aside.

Step 2

In a large skillet, melt the butter over medium heat. Add the minced garlic and sauté for 1 minute until fragrant, being careful not to let it burn.

Step 3

Reduce the heat to low and stir in the heavy cream. Add the chopped basil and Parmesan cheese, stirring until the cheese is melted and the sauce is smooth. Cook for 3-4 minutes, allowing the flavors to combine.

Step 4

Stir in the peas and prosciutto strips, and continue cooking for 2 minutes until heated through.

Step 5

Add the cooked pasta to the skillet with the sauce. Toss to combine, adding a splash of the reserved pasta water if the sauce appears too thick. Season with salt and freshly ground black pepper to taste.

Step 6

Divide the pasta among plates or bowls. Garnish with a drizzle of olive oil, additional Parmesan cheese, and a sprinkle of fresh basil if desired. Serve warm.
