Ingredients

  • 500 grams Plain yogurt (curd)
  • 100 milliliters Water
  • 1 teaspoon Salt
  • 0.5 teaspoon Roasted cumin powder
  • 0.25 teaspoon Chili powder
  • 0.5 teaspoon Chaat masala
  • 0.5 teaspoon Sugar
  • 2 tablespoons Fresh coriander leaves, chopped
  • 1 tablespoon Mint leaves, chopped
  • 100 grams Boondi

Directions

Step 1

In a large mixing bowl, add 500 grams of plain yogurt and 100 milliliters of water. Whisk until smooth and creamy, ensuring there are no lumps.

Step 2

Add 1 teaspoon of salt, 0.5 teaspoon of roasted cumin powder, 0.25 teaspoon of chili powder, 0.5 teaspoon of chaat masala, and 0.5 teaspoon of sugar to the yogurt. Stir until well combined.

Step 3

Fold in 2 tablespoons of chopped fresh coriander leaves and 1 tablespoon of chopped mint leaves into the mixture.

Step 4

Let the boondi soak in fresh water for about 2-3 minutes to soften slightly. Drain the boondi using a sieve and press gently to remove excess water.

Step 5

Add the 100 grams of drained boondi to the spiced yogurt mixture and mix gently until the boondi is evenly distributed.

Step 6

Chill the raita in the refrigerator for about 10-15 minutes to allow the flavors to meld together.

Step 7

Serve the Boondi Raita chilled, garnished with a sprinkle of roasted cumin powder and additional coriander leaves if desired.
