  • 0.75 cups Buttermilk (cold)
  • 1 cup Fresh blueberries
  • 2 tablespoons Heavy cream (for brushing tops)
  • 1 tablespoon Coarse sugar (optional, for sprinkling on top)

Directions

Step 1

Preheat your oven to 425°F (220°C) and line a baking sheet with parchment paper.

In a large mixing bowl, whisk together the flour, sugar, baking powder, baking soda, and salt.

Step 3

Add the cold, cubed butter to the dry ingredients. Using a pastry cutter or your fingers, work the butter into the flour until the mixture resembles coarse crumbs.
