Ingredients

  • 2 lbs Chicken wings
  • 1 tsp Salt
  • 1 tsp Black pepper
  • 1 tsp Garlic powder
  • 1 tsp Paprika
  • 2 tbsp Olive oil
  • 1 cup Blackberries
  • 3 tbsp Honey
  • 2 tbsp Balsamic vinegar
  • 1 tbsp Soy sauce
  • 2 tbsp Unsalted butter
  • 1 cup Sour cream
  • 1 cup Mayonnaise
  • 2 tbsp Lime juice
  • 2 tbsp Chopped fresh chives
  • 0.5 tsp Salt (for dipping sauce)
  • 0.25 tsp Black pepper (for dipping sauce)

Directions

Step 1

Preheat the oven to 400°F (200°C) and line a baking sheet with parchment paper or foil.

Step 2

Pat the chicken wings dry with paper towels and place them in a large bowl.

Step 3

Season the wings with salt, black pepper, garlic powder, and paprika. Drizzle with olive oil and toss to combine.

Step 4

Arrange the wings in a single layer on the prepared baking sheet. Bake for 35-40 minutes, flipping halfway through, until the wings are golden brown and crispy.

Step 5

While the wings bake, prepare the blackberry glaze. In a small saucepan, combine blackberries, honey, balsamic vinegar, and soy sauce over medium heat.

Step 6

Bring the mixture to a simmer and cook for 5-7 minutes, mashing the blackberries with the back of a spoon until they release their juices.

Step 7

Strain the mixture through a sieve to remove the seeds, if desired, and return the glaze to the saucepan. Stir in the butter until melted and smooth. Set aside.

Step 8

For the dipping sauce, whisk together sour cream, mayonnaise, lime juice, chopped chives, salt, and black pepper in a small bowl. Refrigerate until ready to serve.

Step 9

Remove the wings from the oven and coat them with the warm blackberry glaze. Use a brush or toss the wings in a large bowl to evenly coat.

Step 10

Return the glazed wings to the baking sheet and broil for 2-3 minutes to caramelize the glaze, keeping a close eye to prevent burning.

Step 11

Transfer the wings to a serving platter and garnish with additional chives, if desired. Serve hot with the prepared dipping sauce on the side.
