Ingredients

  • 2 lbs Chicken wings
  • 1 cup All-purpose flour
  • 1 tsp Salt
  • 1 tsp Black pepper
  • 1 tsp Garlic powder
  • 1 tsp Paprika
  • 0.5 tsp Cayenne pepper
  • 4 cups Vegetable oil
  • 0.5 cup Butter
  • 0.75 cup Hot sauce
  • 1 tbsp White vinegar
  • 1 tbsp Honey
  • 1 tsp Red pepper flakes

Directions

Step 1

Rinse the chicken wings under cold water and pat them dry with paper towels. If desired, separate them into drumettes and flats.

Step 2

In a large bowl, mix the flour, salt, black pepper, garlic powder, paprika, and cayenne pepper. Toss the chicken wings in the flour mixture, ensuring they are evenly coated. Shake off any excess flour.

Step 3

Place the coated wings on a wire rack and let them rest for 10 minutes to allow the coating to adhere.

Step 4

Heat the vegetable oil in a deep pot or fryer to 375°F (190°C). Make sure the pot is not overfilled to avoid spills.

Step 5

Carefully fry the wings in batches for 8-10 minutes, or until they are golden brown and cooked through (internal temperature should reach 165°F or 74°C). Remove the wings with a slotted spoon and place them on a paper-towel-lined plate to drain excess oil.

Step 6

While the wings are frying, prepare the sauce. In a small saucepan, melt the butter over medium heat. Stir in the hot sauce, white vinegar, honey, and red pepper flakes. Cook for 2-3 minutes, stirring constantly, until the sauce is well combined and heated through.

Step 7

Place the fried wings in a large mixing bowl and pour the hot sauce mixture over them. Toss the wings until they are evenly coated in the sauce.

Step 8

Serve immediately with your favorite dipping sauce (blue cheese or ranch are great options) and celery sticks. Enjoy the heat!
