Ingredients

  • 4 pounds Pork spareribs
  • 1 cup Brown sugar
  • 2 tablespoons Paprika
  • 1 tablespoon Smoked paprika
  • 2 teaspoons Garlic powder
  • 2 teaspoons Onion powder
  • 1 teaspoon Chili powder
  • 0.5 teaspoon Cayenne pepper
  • 1 tablespoon Salt
  • 1 teaspoon Black pepper
  • 0.25 cup Honey
  • 0.25 cup Apple cider vinegar
  • 1.5 cups Barbecue sauce

Directions

Step 1

Preheat your oven to 300°F (150°C).

Step 2

Prepare the ribs by removing the silver skin membrane on the bone side if it's still attached. Use a paper towel for grip to peel it off cleanly.

Step 3

In a small bowl, mix together the brown sugar, paprika, smoked paprika, garlic powder, onion powder, chili powder, cayenne pepper, salt, and black pepper to create the dry rub.

Step 4

Generously coat both sides of the ribs with the dry rub, ensuring even coverage. Let the ribs sit for 15 minutes to absorb the rub.

Step 5

Wrap each rack of ribs tightly in aluminum foil and place them on a baking sheet, meat side up.

Step 6

Bake the ribs in the preheated oven for 3 hours, or until tender and easily pierced with a fork.

Step 7

While the ribs are baking, combine the honey, apple cider vinegar, and barbecue sauce in a medium bowl. Stir well to create the glaze.

Step 8

After 3 hours, remove the ribs from the oven and carefully unwrap them from the foil. Discard any excess liquid.

Step 9

Preheat your grill to medium-high heat or set your oven to broil if grilling is not an option.

Step 10

Brush the ribs generously with the glaze on both sides.

Step 11

Place the ribs on the hot grill, meat side down, and cook for 5–8 minutes per side, brushing more glaze as needed. If broiling, place the ribs on a baking sheet and broil for 5 minutes per side, brushing with glaze.

Step 12

Once caramelized and slightly charred, remove the ribs from the grill or broiler and let them rest for 5 minutes.

Step 13

Slice the ribs between the bones and serve warm with your favorite sides.
