Ingredients

  • 2 pounds Chicken wings
  • 0.5 cup Soy sauce
  • 0.5 cup Honey
  • 2 tablespoons Brown sugar
  • 3 Garlic cloves, minced
  • 1 teaspoon Ground ginger
  • 1 teaspoon Sesame oil
  • 2 tablespoons Cornstarch
  • 2 tablespoons Water
  • 2 tablespoons Vegetable oil
  • 1 teaspoon Salt
  • 0.5 teaspoon Black pepper
  • 2 Green onions, thinly sliced (optional, for garnish)
  • 1 tablespoon Sesame seeds (optional, for garnish)

Directions

Step 1

Preheat your oven to 400°F (200°C) and line a baking sheet with aluminum foil for easy cleanup. Place a wire rack on top of the baking sheet.

Step 2

Pat the chicken wings dry with paper towels, then season evenly with salt and black pepper.

Step 3

Heat the vegetable oil in a large skillet over medium heat. Sear the chicken wings for 3 minutes on each side until lightly browned but not fully cooked.

Step 4

Place the browned wings on the prepared wire rack. Bake in the preheated oven for 30–35 minutes, turning halfway through, until crispy and cooked through with an internal temperature of 165°F (74°C).

Step 5

While the wings bake, prepare the glaze. In a medium saucepan, combine soy sauce, honey, brown sugar, minced garlic, ground ginger, and sesame oil. Bring the mixture to a gentle boil over medium heat, stirring to dissolve the sugar.

Step 6

In a small bowl, mix the cornstarch and water to create a slurry. Slowly whisk the slurry into the saucepan, allowing the glaze to thicken. Reduce heat to low and simmer for another 3–5 minutes. Remove from heat and set aside.

Step 7

Once the wings are cooked and crispy, transfer them to a large mixing bowl. Pour the glaze over the wings and toss until evenly coated.

Step 8

Serve the wings hot, garnished with sliced green onions and sesame seeds if desired.
