Ingredients

  • 12 pieces large eggs
  • 0.25 cups mayonnaise
  • 1 tablespoon yellow mustard
  • 1 teaspoon white vinegar
  • 0.25 teaspoon salt
  • 0.125 teaspoon black pepper
  • 0.5 teaspoon paprika (for garnish)
  • 2 tablespoons chives or parsley (optional, for garnish)

Directions

Step 1

Place the eggs in a single layer in a large saucepan. Add enough cold water to cover the eggs by at least one inch.

Step 2

Bring the water to a rolling boil over medium-high heat, then remove the pan from the heat and cover with a tight-fitting lid. Let the eggs sit in the hot water for 12 minutes.

Step 3

Drain the hot water and immediately transfer the eggs to a bowl of ice water to cool for at least 5 minutes. This will help stop the cooking process and make peeling easier.

Step 4

Once the eggs are completely cool, lightly tap each egg on a hard surface to crack the shell. Gently peel and rinse under cool water to remove any small shell fragments.

Step 5

Carefully slice each egg in half lengthwise and remove the yolks, placing them in a medium mixing bowl. Arrange the egg whites on a serving platter.

Step 6

Using a fork, mash the yolks into fine crumbs. Add mayonnaise, yellow mustard, white vinegar, salt, and black pepper to the bowl. Mix until the yolk mixture is smooth and creamy.

Step 7

Spoon or pipe the yolk mixture evenly into the hollowed-out egg whites.

Step 8

Sprinkle the tops of the deviled eggs with paprika for a hint of color and flavor. Optionally, garnish with chopped chives or parsley.

Step 9

Refrigerate for at least 30 minutes before serving to allow flavors to meld. Serve chilled and enjoy!
