Ingredients

  • 4 pieces Thick-cut pork chops
  • 2 teaspoons Salt
  • 1 teaspoon Black pepper
  • 1 teaspoon Paprika
  • 1 teaspoon Garlic powder
  • 1 teaspoon Dried thyme
  • 2 tablespoons Olive oil
  • 2 tablespoons Unsalted butter
  • 2 cloves Garlic cloves (minced)
  • 1 cup Low-sodium chicken broth
  • 2 tablespoons Fresh parsley (chopped, for garnish)

Directions

Step 1

Pat the pork chops dry with paper towels. Season both sides of the pork chops with salt, black pepper, paprika, garlic powder, and dried thyme.

Step 2

Heat a large skillet over medium-high heat. Add olive oil and swirl to coat the pan.

Step 3

When the oil is hot, add the pork chops to the skillet. Sear them for 3-4 minutes on each side, or until they are golden brown. Remove the pork chops from the pan and set them aside.

Step 4

Reduce the heat to medium and add the butter to the same skillet. Once melted, stir in the minced garlic and cook for about 30 seconds, or until fragrant.

Step 5

Pour the chicken broth into the skillet, scraping the bottom of the pan to deglaze and release the flavorful browned bits.

Step 6

Return the pork chops to the skillet and reduce the heat to low. Cover the skillet with a lid and simmer for 8-10 minutes, or until the pork chops are cooked through and register an internal temperature of 145°F (62.8°C).

Step 7

Remove the pork chops from the skillet and let them rest for 5 minutes.

Step 8

Garnish with chopped fresh parsley before serving. Serve with your choice of sides, such as mashed potatoes or roasted vegetables.
