Ingredients

  • 4 lbs Pork baby back ribs
  • 2 tbsp Kosher salt
  • 1 tbsp Black pepper
  • 1 tbsp Paprika
  • 1 tbsp Garlic powder
  • 1 tbsp Onion powder
  • 2 tbsp Brown sugar
  • 1 cup Apple cider vinegar
  • 1 cup Ketchup
  • 2 tbsp Molasses
  • 2 tbsp Honey
  • 1 tbsp Worcestershire sauce
  • 1 tsp Smoked paprika
  • 1 tsp Hot sauce
  • 1 tsp Liquid smoke
  • 1 cup Water

Directions

Step 1

Preheat your oven to 300°F (150°C).

Step 2

Remove the thin membrane from the back of the ribs to ensure tenderness. Pat the ribs dry with paper towels.

Step 3

In a small bowl, mix together kosher salt, black pepper, paprika, garlic powder, onion powder, and brown sugar.

Step 4

Rub the spice mixture generously over both sides of the ribs.

Step 5

Wrap each rack of ribs tightly in aluminum foil and place them on a baking sheet, bone-side down.

Step 6

Bake in the preheated oven for 2.5 to 3 hours, or until the ribs are tender and the meat pulls away from the bones easily.

Step 7

While the ribs are baking, prepare the BBQ sauce. In a medium saucepan over medium heat, combine apple cider vinegar, ketchup, molasses, honey, Worcestershire sauce, smoked paprika, hot sauce, liquid smoke, and water.

Step 8

Stir well to combine and bring the mixture to a gentle simmer. Let it cook for 15 minutes, stirring occasionally, until slightly thickened. Remove from heat and set aside.

Step 9

Once the ribs are cooked, preheat your grill to medium-high heat.

Step 10

Carefully remove the ribs from the foil and transfer them to the grill, bone-side down.

Step 11

Brush the ribs generously with the prepared BBQ sauce and grill for 5-7 minutes. Flip the ribs, brush more sauce on the other side, and grill for another 5-7 minutes, or until caramelized and slightly charred.

Step 12

Remove the ribs from the grill, let them rest for 5 minutes, and then slice between the bones to serve.

Step 13

Serve with your favorite side dishes and extra BBQ sauce for dipping if desired.
