Ingredients

  • 500 grams Ground beef
  • 2 pieces Green onions, chopped
  • 3 cloves Garlic, minced
  • 1 tablespoon Ginger, grated
  • 2 tablespoons Soy sauce
  • 1 tablespoon Sesame oil
  • 1 teaspoon Salt
  • 0.5 teaspoon Black pepper
  • 36 pieces Dumpling wrappers
  • 0 Water
  • 2 tablespoons Vegetable oil
  • 4 tablespoons Soy sauce (for dipping)
  • 2 tablespoons Rice vinegar (for dipping)
  • 1 teaspoon Chili oil (optional, for dipping)

Directions

Step 1

In a large mixing bowl, combine the ground beef, chopped green onions, minced garlic, grated ginger, soy sauce, sesame oil, salt, and black pepper. Mix well until all the ingredients are thoroughly incorporated.

Step 2

Take one dumpling wrapper and place it in the palm of your hand. Use a spoon to add about 1 tablespoon of the beef mixture into the center of the wrapper.

Step 3

Dip your finger in water and run it along the edges of the wrapper. Fold the wrapper over the filling to create a half-moon shape, and press the edges to seal. Make sure to remove any air pockets around the filling.

Step 4

To create pleats, starting from one end, fold small pleats along the sealed edge. Press firmly to ensure the dumpling is fully sealed. Repeat this process for the remaining dumplings.

Step 5

Heat 1 tablespoon of vegetable oil in a non-stick skillet over medium-high heat. Place the dumplings in the skillet, flat side down, and cook until the bottom is golden brown, about 2-3 minutes.

Step 6

Carefully add about 1/4 cup of water to the skillet and immediately cover with a lid. Reduce the heat to medium and steam the dumplings until the water has evaporated, about 5-7 minutes, and the dumpling wrappers are cooked through.

Step 7

Remove the lid and cook for an additional 1-2 minutes to allow the bottoms to crisp up again. Repeat the cooking steps for the remaining dumplings in batches if necessary.

Step 8

To make the dipping sauce, combine soy sauce, rice vinegar, and chili oil (if using) in a small bowl. Serve the dumplings hot with the prepared dipping sauce.
