Ingredients

  • 6 whole banana peppers
  • 6 pieces Vienna sausages or hot dogs
  • 4 ounces cream cheese
  • 1 cup shredded cheddar cheese
  • 0.5 teaspoon garlic powder
  • 0.5 teaspoon onion powder
  • 0.25 teaspoon paprika
  • 1 tablespoon olive oil
  • 0.25 teaspoon salt
  • 0.25 teaspoon pepper

Directions

Step 1

Preheat your oven to 375°F (190°C) and line a baking sheet with parchment paper.

Step 2

Slice each banana pepper lengthwise and remove the seeds and membranes to create a hollow cavity. Set aside.

Step 3

In a mixing bowl, combine the cream cheese, garlic powder, onion powder, paprika, salt, and pepper. Mix until smooth.

Step 4

Fill each banana pepper cavity halfway with the cream cheese mixture.

Step 5

Cut the Vienna sausages or hot dogs to fit the length of the banana peppers, if necessary, and place them on top of the cream cheese filling in each pepper.

Step 6

Sprinkle shredded cheddar cheese over the top of the sausages or hot dogs, ensuring an even coating.

Step 7

Brush the outside of the banana peppers lightly with olive oil to help with roasting.

Step 8

Place the stuffed peppers on the prepared baking sheet and bake in the preheated oven for 18-20 minutes, or until the peppers are tender and the cheese on top is melted and bubbly.

Step 9

Remove from the oven and allow to cool for a few minutes before serving. Enjoy as a fun snack or appetizer!
