Ingredients

  • 8 lbs Bone-in ham
  • 3 tbsp Dijon mustard
  • 2 tbsp Balsamic vinegar
  • 0.25 cup Brown sugar
  • 2 tbsp Honey
  • 2 cloves Garlic, minced
  • 1.5 lbs Pearl onions
  • 2 tbsp Olive oil
  • 2 tsp Fresh thyme
  • 1 tsp Salt
  • 0.5 tsp Black pepper

Directions

Step 1

Preheat your oven to 325°F (165°C).

Step 2

Place the ham in a large roasting pan, flat-side down, and score the surface of the ham in a diamond pattern with a sharp knife.

Step 3

In a small bowl, whisk together Dijon mustard, balsamic vinegar, brown sugar, honey, and minced garlic to make the glaze.

Step 4

Brush half of the glaze mixture generously over the scored ham, ensuring it gets into the crevices.

Step 5

Cover the ham loosely with aluminum foil and bake for 1 1/2 hours, basting with additional glaze every 30 minutes.

While the ham is roasting, peel the pearl onions by blanching them in boiling water for 1-2 minutes, then transferring them to an ice bath and removing the skins.

Toss the peeled pearl onions in a bowl with olive oil, fresh thyme, salt, and black pepper until evenly coated.
