Ingredients

  • 1 pound Salmon filet
  • 4 ounces Cream cheese, softened
  • 2 cups Cooked sushi rice
  • 4 Nori sheets (seaweed)
  • 1 tablespoon Soy sauce
  • 2 teaspoons Lemon juice
  • 2 tablespoons Mirin
  • 1 tablespoon Honey
  • 2 tablespoons Green onions, chopped
  • 1 tablespoon Sesame seeds, toasted
  • 1 teaspoon Olive oil
  • 0.5 teaspoon Salt
  • 0.25 teaspoon Black pepper

Directions

Step 1

Preheat your oven to 375°F (190°C) and line a baking sheet with parchment paper.

Step 2

Cut the salmon filet into thin strips, approximately 1 inch wide.

Step 3

Season the salmon strips with olive oil, salt, and black pepper, then set aside.

Step 4

Prepare the sweet ponzu sauce by whisking together the soy sauce, lemon juice, mirin, and honey in a small bowl. Set aside for flavors to meld.

Step 5

Lay a sheet of nori shiny side down on a bamboo sushi mat or clean surface. Spread 1/2 cup of cooked sushi rice evenly over the nori, leaving a 1-inch border at the top.

Step 6

Spread 1 tablespoon of softened cream cheese across the center of the rice layer.

Step 7

Place a salmon strip horizontally over the cream cheese, and carefully roll the nori and rice around the filling using the sushi mat for support. Roll tightly to form a compact log.

Step 8

Repeat the process with the remaining nori, rice, cream cheese, and salmon until you have 4 rolls.

Step 9

Arrange the salmon rolls seam-side down on the prepared baking sheet and place in the oven. Bake for 10-15 minutes, or until the salmon is fully cooked and the rolls are slightly golden on top.

Step 10

Remove the rolls from the oven and allow them to cool slightly, about 5 minutes.

Step 11

Slice each roll into bite-sized pieces using a sharp knife dipped in water for clean cuts.

Step 12

Drizzle the sweet ponzu sauce over the sliced rolls, then garnish with chopped green onions and toasted sesame seeds before serving.

Step 13

Serve warm and enjoy your Baked Salmon Roll with Sweet Ponzu Sauce!
