Ingredients

  • 1 pound Ground beef
  • 1 teaspoon Salt
  • 0.5 teaspoon Black pepper
  • 0.5 teaspoon Garlic powder
  • 4 slices Cheese slices (Cheddar or American)
  • 6 slices Bacon strips
  • 2 pieces Hamburger buns
  • 2 leaves Lettuce leaves
  • 1 medium Tomato
  • 0.5 medium Onion
  • 8 pieces Pickle slices
  • 2 tablespoons Ketchup
  • 2 tablespoons Mayonnaise
  • 1 tablespoon Mustard
  • 1 tablespoon Butter

Directions

Step 1

Preheat a grill or skillet over medium-high heat.

Step 2

Form the ground beef into 4 equal-sized patties, about 1/2 inch thick each. Season both sides with salt, black pepper, and garlic powder.

Step 3

Cook the bacon in a large skillet over medium heat until crispy, about 5-7 minutes. Remove from skillet and place on a paper towel-lined plate to drain excess grease.

Step 4

Add the beef patties to the skillet or grill. Cook for about 3-4 minutes on each side, or until desired doneness is reached.

Step 5

During the last minute of cooking, place a slice of cheese on each patty to melt.

Step 6

While the beef patties are cooking, slice the tomato and onion into thin rings and set aside.

Step 7

Butter the insides of the hamburger buns and lightly toast them on the skillet or grill until golden brown.

Step 8

To assemble the burgers, spread 1 tablespoon of mayonnaise on the bottom bun, followed by ketchup and mustard to taste.

Step 9

Layer a lettuce leaf on top of the condiments followed by two cheese-topped patties.

Step 10

Add 3 slices of crispy bacon atop the cheese-covered patties.

Step 11

Layer with tomato and onion slices, followed by pickles.

Step 12

Cap it off with the top bun, serve and enjoy your homemade bacon double cheeseburger.
