Ingredients

  • 1 pound Ground beef
  • 0.5 pound Ground pork
  • 0.75 cup Breadcrumbs
  • 0.5 cup Parmesan cheese, grated
  • 0.5 cup Milk
  • 2 large Eggs
  • 2 cloves Garlic, minced
  • 2 tablespoons Fresh parsley, chopped
  • 1 teaspoon Salt
  • 0.5 teaspoon Black pepper
  • 0.5 teaspoon Dried oregano
  • 2 tablespoons Olive oil

Directions

Step 1

In a large mixing bowl, combine the breadcrumbs and milk. Let sit for 2-3 minutes to allow the breadcrumbs to absorb the milk.

Step 2

Add the ground beef, ground pork, parmesan cheese, eggs, minced garlic, chopped parsley, salt, black pepper, and dried oregano to the bowl with the breadcrumb mixture.

Step 3

Using clean hands, gently mix the ingredients together until combined. Be careful not to overmix, as this can make the meatballs tough.

Step 4

Form the mixture into meatballs, each about 1.5 inches in diameter, and place them on a plate or baking sheet.

Step 5

Heat the olive oil in a large skillet over medium heat.

Step 6

Working in batches, add the meatballs to the skillet, making sure not to overcrowd the pan. Sear them on all sides until golden brown, about 2-3 minutes per side. Remove the seared meatballs and set them aside on a plate.

Step 7

Once all the meatballs are seared, you can transfer them to your favorite marinara sauce in a large pot. Simmer the meatballs in the sauce over low heat for 20 minutes, or until fully cooked through.

Step 8

Serve hot over pasta, in a sandwich, or on their own as an appetizer. Garnish with additional parsley and parmesan cheese, if desired.
