Ingredients

  • 4 pieces Ribeye steak (or preferred cut)
  • 0.5 cup Soy sauce
  • 0.25 cup White vinegar
  • 6 cloves Garlic, minced
  • 2 pieces Bay leaves
  • 1 teaspoon Ground black pepper
  • 0.33 cup Water
  • 2 tablespoons Olive oil
  • 1 tablespoon Brown sugar
  • 2 tablespoons Chopped parsley (for garnish)

Directions

Step 1

In a medium mixing bowl, prepare the marinade by combining soy sauce, white vinegar, minced garlic, bay leaves, ground black pepper, and water. Whisk together until well blended.

Step 2

Place the ribeye steaks in a shallow dish or resealable plastic bag. Pour the marinade over the steaks, ensuring they are well coated. Cover and let marinate in the refrigerator for at least 1 hour, preferably overnight for deeper flavor.

Step 3

Heat 1 tablespoon of olive oil in a large skillet or grill pan over medium-high heat. Remove the steaks from the marinade, allowing excess liquid to drip off but reserving the marinade for later use.

Step 4

Sear the steaks on the skillet for 3-4 minutes per side or until they reach your desired level of doneness. Transfer the cooked steaks to a plate and tent them with foil to keep warm.

Step 5

In the same skillet, add the remaining olive oil and brown sugar. Stir for 1 minute until the sugar begins to caramelize. Slowly pour in the reserved marinade and bring it to a simmer. Allow it to cook for 5-7 minutes, reducing slightly into a sauce.

Step 6

Serve the steaks hot, drizzled with the adobo sauce. Garnish with freshly chopped parsley for a pop of color and flavor.

Step 7

Pair with steamed rice, mashed potatoes, or your favorite vegetables for a complete meal.
