Ingredients

  • 1 pound Ground pork
  • 3 stalks Green onions (finely chopped)
  • 2 cloves Garlic (minced)
  • 1 teaspoon Ginger (grated)
  • 2 tablespoons Soy sauce
  • 1 tablespoon Sesame oil
  • 1 tablespoon Cornstarch
  • 1 large Egg
  • 1 package Dumpling wrappers
  • 2 tablespoons Vegetable oil
  • 1 cup Water
  • 1 bowl (optional) Dipping sauce (soy sauce, rice vinegar, and chili paste)

Directions

Step 1

In a large bowl, combine the ground pork, green onions, garlic, ginger, soy sauce, sesame oil, cornstarch, and egg. Mix well until the filling is fully combined.

Step 2

Take one dumpling wrapper and place it in the palm of your hand. Spoon about 1 teaspoon of the filling into the center of the wrapper.

Step 3

Wet the edges of the dumpling wrapper with water using your finger, then fold it in half to form a half-moon shape. Press the edges together to seal, ensuring no air is trapped inside. You can pleat the edges for a decorative touch. Repeat with the remaining wrappers and filling.

Step 4

Heat a large non-stick skillet over medium heat and add 2 tablespoons of vegetable oil. Place the dumplings in the skillet flat-side down and cook for 2–3 minutes or until the bottoms are golden brown.

Step 5

Carefully pour 1/3 cup of water into the skillet and immediately cover with a lid. Allow the dumplings to steam for 6–8 minutes, or until the water has evaporated and the dumpling wrappers are fully cooked.

Step 6

Remove the lid and cook for an additional 1–2 minutes to crisp up the bottoms again.

Step 7

Transfer the dumplings to a plate and serve warm with a dipping sauce made of soy sauce, rice vinegar, and chili paste, if desired.
