Ingredients

  • 1 pound Ground beef
  • 24 ounces Marinara sauce
  • 15 ounces Ricotta cheese
  • 2 cups Shredded mozzarella cheese
  • 1 cup Grated Parmesan cheese
  • 1 large Egg
  • 9 sheets Lasagna noodles (oven-ready)
  • 1 teaspoon Salt
  • 0.5 teaspoon Black pepper
  • 1 teaspoon Dried Italian seasoning

Directions

Step 1

Preheat your oven to 375°F (190°C).

Step 2

In a large skillet over medium heat, cook the ground beef until browned. Drain any excess fat.

Step 3

Stir the marinara sauce into the cooked beef and let it simmer for 5 minutes. Set aside.

Step 4

In a medium bowl, mix together the ricotta cheese, 1 cup of shredded mozzarella, Parmesan cheese, egg, salt, black pepper, and Italian seasoning until well combined.

Step 5

Spread 1 cup of the meat sauce evenly over the bottom of a 9x13-inch baking dish.

Step 6

Layer 3 sheets of lasagna noodles over the meat sauce, ensuring they do not overlap.

Step 7

Spread 1/3 of the ricotta cheese mixture evenly over the noodles.

Step 8

Top the ricotta layer with 1 cup of the meat sauce.

Step 9

Repeat the layering process (noodles, ricotta, meat sauce) two more times, finishing with the remaining meat sauce on top.

Step 10

Sprinkle the remaining cup of shredded mozzarella cheese evenly over the top layer.

Step 11

Cover the baking dish with aluminum foil, making sure the foil does not touch the cheese.

Step 12

Bake in the preheated oven for 25 minutes. Then, remove the foil and bake uncovered for an additional 25 minutes, or until the cheese is melted and bubbly.

Step 13

Remove the lasagna from the oven and let it rest for 10 minutes before serving.
