Ingredients

  • 2 pounds ground beef
  • 1 medium, finely chopped onion
  • 1 cup breadcrumbs
  • 0.5 cup milk
  • 2 large egg
  • 0.33 cup ketchup
  • 2 tablespoons Worcestershire sauce
  • 1 teaspoon garlic powder
  • 1 teaspoon salt
  • 0.5 teaspoon black pepper
  • 0.5 cup (for glaze) ketchup
  • 2 tablespoons brown sugar
  • 1 teaspoon apple cider vinegar

Directions

Step 1

Preheat your oven to 375°F (190°C). Line a 9x5-inch loaf pan with parchment paper or lightly grease it for easy removal.

Step 2

In a large mixing bowl, combine the ground beef, finely chopped onion, breadcrumbs, milk, eggs, 1/3 cup ketchup, Worcestershire sauce, garlic powder, salt, and black pepper. Mix gently using your hands or a spatula until just combined, being careful not to overmix.

Step 3

Transfer the meat mixture into the prepared loaf pan. Press it down gently to shape it evenly and ensure it fills the pan completely.

Step 4

In a small bowl, mix together 1/2 cup ketchup, brown sugar, and apple cider vinegar to create the glaze. Spread the glaze evenly over the top of the meatloaf.

Step 5

Place the loaf pan in the preheated oven and bake for 60 minutes, or until the internal temperature of the meatloaf reaches 160°F (70°C) as measured with a meat thermometer.

Step 6

Once baked, remove the meatloaf from the oven and let it rest in the pan for 10 minutes to allow the juices to redistribute.

Step 7

Carefully lift the meatloaf out of the pan, using the parchment paper if lined, and transfer it to a cutting board. Slice and serve warm alongside your favorite sides such as mashed potatoes, green beans, or a fresh salad.
