Ingredients

  • 2 pounds ground beef
  • 1 medium onion, finely chopped
  • 2 cloves garlic cloves, minced
  • 1 cup breadcrumbs
  • 0.5 cup milk
  • 2 large eggs
  • 0.5 cup ketchup
  • 1 tablespoon Worcestershire sauce
  • 2 tablespoons parsley, chopped
  • 1 teaspoon salt
  • 0.5 teaspoon black pepper
  • 0.5 teaspoon paprika
  • 0.25 cup ketchup (for glaze)
  • 2 tablespoons brown sugar (for glaze)
  • 1 tablespoon Dijon mustard (for glaze)

Directions

Step 1

Preheat your oven to 375°F (190°C). Lightly grease a loaf pan or line it with parchment paper for easy removal.

Step 2

In a large mixing bowl, combine the ground beef, chopped onion, minced garlic, breadcrumbs, milk, eggs, ketchup, Worcestershire sauce, chopped parsley, salt, pepper, and paprika.

Step 3

Using clean hands, gently mix the ingredients together until they are evenly combined. Be careful not to overmix as this can lead to a dense meatloaf.

Step 4

Transfer the mixture to the prepared loaf pan and press it down gently to shape it evenly.

Step 5

In a small bowl, mix together the 1/4 cup ketchup, brown sugar, and Dijon mustard to make the glaze. Spread the glaze evenly over the top of the meatloaf.

Step 6

Place the loaf pan in the preheated oven and bake for 50-60 minutes, or until the internal temperature of the meatloaf reaches 160°F (71°C) when measured with a meat thermometer.

Step 7

Remove the meatloaf from the oven and let it rest for 10 minutes before slicing. This helps the juices redistribute and makes slicing easier.

Step 8

Serve warm, paired with mashed potatoes, roasted vegetables, or a side salad. Enjoy Nana's heartwarming recipe!
