Ingredients

  • 4.5 cups All-purpose flour
  • 0.25 cups Granulated sugar
  • 1 teaspoons Salt
  • 1 packets Active dry yeast
  • 1.25 cups Warm water (around 110°F)
  • 0.25 cups Unsalted butter, melted
  • 1 large Egg

Directions

Step 1

In a large mixing bowl, combine 1 cup of the flour, sugar, salt, and yeast.

Step 2

Add the warm water, melted butter, and the egg. Beat the mixture with a wooden spoon or electric mixer on low speed until smooth.

Step 3

Gradually add the remaining flour, half a cup at a time, until the dough starts to pull away from the sides of the bowl and is soft but not sticky.

Step 4

Turn the dough out onto a lightly floured surface and knead for about 8-10 minutes until it becomes smooth and elastic. Alternatively, you can use the dough hook attachment of a stand mixer for this step.

Step 5

Place the dough in a lightly greased bowl, cover with a clean kitchen towel or plastic wrap, and let it rise in a warm place until doubled in size, about 1-1.5 hours.

Step 6

Punch down the dough and divide it into 12 equal portions. Shape each portion into a smooth ball and place them on a greased or parchment-lined baking sheet, leaving a small space between each for rising.

Step 7

Cover the buns with a cloth and let them rise again in a warm place for about 30 minutes, or until doubled in size.

Step 8

Preheat your oven to 375°F (190°C).

Step 9

Bake the buns in the preheated oven for 15-20 minutes, or until they are golden brown on top.

Step 10

Remove the buns from the oven and let them cool slightly on a wire rack. Serve warm or at room temperature.
