Ingredients

  • 3 large Overripe bananas
  • 0.5 cup Unsalted butter
  • 0.75 cup Granulated sugar
  • 2 large Eggs
  • 1 teaspoon Vanilla extract
  • 2 cups All-purpose flour
  • 1 teaspoon Baking powder
  • 0.5 teaspoon Baking soda
  • 0.25 teaspoon Salt
  • 2 tablespoons Milk
  • 0.5 cup Chopped walnuts (optional)

Directions

Step 1

Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C) and grease a 9x5-inch loaf pan or line it with parchment paper.

Step 2

Peel the bananas and mash them thoroughly in a large mixing bowl until mostly smooth.

Step 3

Melt the butter in a microwave-safe bowl or on the stovetop, and add it to the mashed bananas. Stir to combine.

Step 4

Add the granulated sugar, eggs, and vanilla extract to the banana mixture. Whisk until smooth and well combined.

Step 5

In a separate medium bowl, sift together the all-purpose flour, baking powder, baking soda, and salt.

Step 6

Gradually add the dry ingredients to the wet banana mixture, stirring gently until just combined. Be careful not to overmix.

Step 7

Stir in the milk to loosen the batter slightly. If you're adding walnuts, gently fold them in now.

Step 8

Pour the batter evenly into the prepared loaf pan and smooth the top with a spatula.

Step 9

Bake in the preheated oven for 55-60 minutes, or until a toothpick inserted into the center of the bread comes out clean.

Step 10

Remove the banana bread from the oven and let it cool in the pan on a wire rack for about 10 minutes.

Step 11

Carefully remove the bread from the pan and let it cool completely on the wire rack before slicing and serving.
