Ingredients

  • 4 whole Garlic bulbs
  • 4 tablespoons Olive oil
  • 0.5 teaspoons Salt
  • 0.5 teaspoons Pepper
  • 1 sheet Aluminum foil

Directions

Step 1

Preheat your oven to 375°F (190°C).

Step 2

Peel away the loose outer layers of the garlic bulbs, leaving the skins on the cloves intact.

Step 3

Using a sharp knife, slice about 1/4 inch off the top of each garlic bulb to expose the individual cloves.

Step 4

Place each garlic bulb on a sheet of aluminum foil large enough to wrap completely around the bulb.

Step 5

Drizzle 1 tablespoon of olive oil over the top of each garlic bulb, allowing the oil to seep into the cloves.

Step 6

Sprinkle each bulb with a pinch of salt and pepper for added flavor.

Step 7

Wrap the foil tightly around each garlic bulb, creating a sealed packet.

Step 8

Place the foil-wrapped garlic bulbs on a baking tray and roast in the preheated oven for 40-45 minutes, or until the cloves are soft and golden brown.

Step 9

Remove the garlic from the oven and allow it to cool slightly before handling.

Step 10

Unwrap the foil and gently squeeze the base of each garlic clove to remove the soft roasted garlic paste.

Step 11

Store the roasted garlic paste in an airtight container in the refrigerator for up to 5 days, or freeze for longer storage.

Step 12

Use the roasted garlic as desired in recipes or as a spread on bread.
