Preheat your oven to 450°F (230°C). Position the oven rack in the lower third of the oven to allow the turkey to fit comfortably.
Remove the neck and giblets from the turkey cavity, if present. Rinse the turkey inside and out with cold water, then pat thoroughly dry using paper towels.
