Ingredients

  • 200 grams All-purpose flour
  • 4 pieces Large eggs
  • 200 milliliters Whole milk
  • 1 teaspoon Sea salt
  • 2 tablespoons Vegetable oil

Directions

Step 1

Preheat your oven to 220°C (425°F) or 200°C (fan-forced).

Step 2

In a large mixing bowl, sift the flour and add the sea salt. Create a well in the center of the flour.

Step 3

Crack the eggs into the well, then whisk lightly. Gradually incorporate the flour into the eggs to form a smooth batter.

Step 4

Slowly pour in the milk, whisking continuously until the batter is smooth and lump-free. Set aside for 10 minutes to rest.

Step 5

Place a 12-cup muffin tray in the oven to heat for 5 minutes. Remove from the oven and pour about 1/2 teaspoon of vegetable oil into each cup.

Step 6

Return the tray to the oven for another 5 minutes until the oil is scorching hot.

Step 7

Carefully remove the hot tray and pour the batter into each cup, filling them just under halfway. Be cautious, as the oil may sizzle.

Step 8

Quickly return the tray to the oven and bake for 20-25 minutes, or until the puddings are puffed up and golden brown. Avoid opening the oven during cooking.

Step 9

Once cooked, remove from the oven and serve immediately as part of your roast dinner or with gravy for dipping.
