Ingredients

  • 12 large Eggs
  • 1.5 cups Granulated sugar
  • 1 quart Heavy cream
  • 1 quart Whole milk
  • 1 pint Rum
  • 0.5 pint Brandy
  • 0.5 pint Rye whiskey
  • 0.25 pint Sherry
  • 1 teaspoon Ground nutmeg

Directions

Step 1

Separate the egg yolks and egg whites into two large mixing bowls.

Step 2

In the bowl with the egg yolks, add the granulated sugar and whisk together until the mixture is creamy and light in color.

Step 3

Slowly add the rum, brandy, rye whiskey, and sherry into the yolk mixture, stirring continuously to incorporate.

Step 4

Gradually whisk in the heavy cream and whole milk to the boozy yolk mixture. Stir to combine thoroughly.

Step 5

In the other mixing bowl, beat the egg whites until they form stiff peaks.

Step 6

Gently fold the whipped egg whites into the eggnog mixture, stirring just enough to combine. This will give the eggnog a frothy texture.

Step 7

Pour the eggnog into a large pitcher or punch bowl and refrigerate for at least 2 hours or, for best results, overnight to allow the flavors to meld.

Step 8

Before serving, sprinkle the top of the eggnog with ground nutmeg for garnish. Serve chilled in glasses or small mugs.
