Ingredients

  • 12 oz Egg noodles
  • 1 medium head Green cabbage
  • 1 large Yellow onion
  • 6 tbsp Unsalted butter
  • 2 tbsp Vegetable oil
  • 1 tsp Salt
  • 0.5 tsp Ground black pepper
  • 2 tbsp Fresh parsley

Directions

Step 1

Bring a large pot of salted water to boil. Cook the egg noodles according to package instructions until al dente. Drain and set aside.

Step 2

While the noodles cook, prepare the cabbage by removing the outer leaves and slicing it in half. Cut out the core, then thinly slice the cabbage into shreds.

Step 3

Peel and finely slice the onion into thin half-moons.

Step 4

In a large skillet or sauté pan, melt the butter over medium heat and add the vegetable oil to prevent burning.

Step 5

Add the sliced onion to the pan and sauté for 5-7 minutes, stirring occasionally, until soft and golden brown.

Step 6

Add the shredded cabbage to the skillet and sprinkle with salt and black pepper. Cook for 10-12 minutes, stirring frequently, until the cabbage is tender and slightly caramelized.

Step 7

Reduce the heat to low and stir in the cooked egg noodles, ensuring they are well coated with the buttery cabbage and onion mixture.

Step 8

Taste and adjust seasoning if necessary, adding more salt or pepper to your liking.

Step 9

Garnish with chopped fresh parsley before serving.

Step 10

Serve hot as a main dish or as a hearty side. Enjoy!
