Rinse the dried chickpeas thoroughly and soak them in water overnight or for at least 8 hours.
Drain the soaked chickpeas and transfer them to a pressure cooker with 3 cups of fresh water. Cook until the chickpeas are tender, about 15-20 minutes after the pressure is up to high. Once done, release the pressure naturally.
In a large pan, heat 3 tablespoons of oil over medium heat. Add 1 teaspoon of cumin seeds and allow them to sizzle.
Add the chopped onion and sauté until golden brown.
