Ingredients

  • 1 cup Dried chickpeas
  • 4 cups Water
  • 1 unit Black tea bag
  • 2 tablespoons Oil
  • 1 teaspoon Cumin seeds
  • 1 large Onion
  • 1 tablespoon Ginger-garlic paste
  • 2 medium Tomatoes
  • 2 tablespoons Chole masala
  • 0.5 teaspoon Turmeric powder
  • 1 teaspoon Red chili powder
  • 1 teaspoon Coriander powder
  • 1.5 teaspoons Salt
  • 1 teaspoon Garam masala
  • 2 tablespoons Cilantro leaves
  • 0.5 unit Lemon

Directions

Step 1

Rinse the dried chickpeas and soak them in water overnight or for at least 8 hours.

Step 2

Drain the soaked chickpeas. Add them to a pressure cooker with 4 cups of water and the black tea bag to enhance color and flavor.

Step 3

Cook for 10-12 whistles or until the chickpeas are soft and cooked thoroughly. Discard the tea bag after cooking.

In a large pan, heat the oil over medium heat. Add cumin seeds and let them splutter.
