Ingredients

  • 1 large ball (store-bought or homemade) Pizza dough
  • 1 tablespoon Olive oil
  • 0.5 cup Tomato sauce
  • 1 cup, shredded Mozzarella cheese
  • 0.5 medium, thinly sliced Bell pepper
  • 0.25 medium, thinly sliced Red onion
  • 0.5 cup, halved Cherry tomatoes
  • 0.5 cup, thinly sliced Mushrooms
  • 0.25 cup, sliced Black olives
  • 1 cup, fresh Spinach
  • 1 teaspoon Dried oregano
  • 0.25 teaspoon Crushed red pepper flakes (optional)
  • 2 tablespoons, grated Parmesan cheese (optional)

Directions

Step 1

Preheat your oven to 475°F (245°C). If using a pizza stone, place it in the oven to heat.

Step 2

Lightly flour your work surface and roll out the pizza dough into a 12-inch circle. Transfer the dough to a parchment-lined baking sheet or a pizza peel if using a pizza stone.

Step 3

Brush the surface of the dough with olive oil to prevent sogginess and to promote a golden crust.

Step 4

Spread the tomato sauce evenly over the dough, leaving a small border around the edge for the crust.

Step 5

Sprinkle the shredded mozzarella cheese evenly over the tomato sauce.

Step 6

Arrange the bell pepper, red onion, cherry tomatoes, mushrooms, black olives, and fresh spinach on top of the cheese.

Step 7

Sprinkle the pizza with dried oregano and, if desired, crushed red pepper flakes for a hint of spice.

Step 8

Transfer the pizza to the oven (directly onto the pizza stone if using) and bake for 10-12 minutes, or until the crust is golden brown and the cheese is bubbly.

Step 9

Remove the pizza from the oven and let it rest for 2-3 minutes before slicing.

Step 10

Sprinkle with grated Parmesan cheese, if desired, before serving. Enjoy your homemade vegetarian pizza!
